Sizing & Fit
These aren't just any pair of tights....
Supportive Apparel is unlike anything you've worn before. Before you slip into your first pair of Stoko's, set aside your usual assumptions about how athletic apparel should look, feel and be sized. To land on the right size and know what to expect from the fit and feel, read on below.
Sizing
Why is Supportive Apparel sizing different?
Supportive Apparel pairs a medical-grade brace with athletic wear. Each element has its own sizing requirements, so height and weight together deliver the most accurate fit and function.
But why do you size based on height and weight?
Your height and weight set the length and placement of Stoko's Support System. They're the best measurements to make sure our products give you the support you need to stay active.
Can I size using inseam and waist measurements?
All of our size charts are built around height and weight, since those are the most effective measurements for making sure our products fit and function well.
How to determine your size
We deliberately chose height and weight because together they give the most accurate length of cable support and the best apparel fit.
|
Step 1
Locate your height along the left-hand side of the size chart (shown below). |
|---|
|
Step 2
From that height, move straight across the squares until you reach your weight listed along the top of the size chart. |
|
Step 3
Wherever those two lines meet is the square that gives you your size. |

Fit & Feel
What does Supportive Apparel feel like?
Picture your go-to athletic tight with a high-tech support system woven right in. It can feel a little unusual at first, with pressure from the fabric and cables, but as you wear it the garment molds to you and soon fits like a glove.
How is Supportive Apparel supposed to fit?
Streamlined and next to the skin. The garment is compressive and patterned so our support system stays engaged with your body while keeping you comfortable through activity.
Not sure what to expect?
Don't worry if you don't notice any dramatic sensations— that's exactly how it's meant to work. Think of it as joint support that stays completely under the radar.
Sizing & Fit FAQs
Height and weight let us pinpoint the length and position of the cable support system accurately — something traditional athletic apparel sizing can't do.
Example: hiking buddies Bob and Dave are shopping for Supportive Apparel for their weekly hike. Bob is 5’7” and 165 lbs, while Dave is 6’2” and 150 lbs. Both end up in a Men’s size Medium. How? Even with different heights and weights, the amount of cable support each needs is very similar, because the cable length is distributed across a shorter, wider frame in one case and a taller, slimmer frame in the other.
For now, technical limits in our support system and manufacturing process mean we can't offer sizes beyond our current range. It's something we'll keep working on, and we hope to add a size that suits you in the future.
You're welcome to try a size you're close to, but we can't guarantee the product's support for anyone outside our current size chart.
Go with the size you fall into on our size chart, and size up if you're right on the border between two sizes.
Our charts are designed so the size you land in gives you the right amount of adjustable support. There's a break-in period, so the first time on won't be the most comfortable — but it's worth it, and it keeps getting better the more you move in your Supportive Apparel.
We built gender-specific size charts to fit our customers best. The same size-and-weight combination fits very differently on a men's garment than on a women's, so we can't assess the support or fit you'd get by switching charts.
For now, technical limits in our support system and manufacturing process mean sizes outside our current range aren't possible. We'll keep discussing it and hope to add a size that's right for you in the future!
Not at the moment — height and weight give the most accurate fit estimate for our product. The Supportive Apparel fabric is very stretchy, and most customers are happy with the fit when they use our size chart. And we back it with a 30-day trial so you can return or exchange if the fit isn't right.
Supportive Apparel is made to sit next to the skin, and the cables might even feel a bit small at first. That's normal! They're meant to feel like one with your body, and the cable support system needs some time to break in — just like your favourite pair of shoes.
