In fact, the Stoko leggings saved my trek, the one I'd been dreaming of for years!

Hello, I'm writing today to share my experience as a user of your leggings.

I'm 58 and live in the Laurentians in Quebec. I run short-distance trail races of 10–12 km and go on day hikes regularly. In January 2026 I decided to celebrate my retirement by taking on the challenge of hiking Mont Blanc: 120 km in 7 days with 8,000 meters of elevation gain and loss. I was a little anxious about whether my knees would hold up, since I have osteoarthritis in both and patellofemoral syndrome. I'd been working hard for 6 months with a physical therapist and a chiropractor to strengthen the muscles around my knees. Even so, I wasn't sure I could handle 1,500 meters of descent over 3 hours — and do that for 7 days straight. I found a pair of Stoko leggings on Marketplace for half price in my size, so I bought them as a Plan B if my knees acted up.

From the very first day my knees were burning during the 3-hour afternoon descent, and that became the routine for the week. Every day we'd climb for 3 hours in the morning and descend 800 to 1,500 meters in the afternoon. The next day I put on the Stoko leggings and, as I descended, I tightened the BOA system on the back to give good support to my knee joints. Thanks to your leggings I completed my 7-day Tour du Mont-Blanc. I'm convinced that without them I wouldn't have pulled off this feat.

Despite the heat, I found them very comfortable. I was proud to tell my half-French, half-Canadian group that the Stoko leggings were a Canadian invention from British Columbia. If my story can help others take on challenges that seem impossible, that will make me very happy.

Thank you again for your invention, and best of luck in the future!

Not quite

I really wanted to like these leggings — I love the idea behind them. I bought them to run and was hoping they'd help for hiking. I have hip and back pain with knee pain as well. I don't know if my height got in the way (5'8", 140 lb, 30" inseam) but I am constantly adjusting them, mostly pulling the thighs up; the crotch keeps trying to sag. The knee support that's supposed to sit below the knee I have to keep pulling down into position. Tightening doesn't help it stay put, it mostly just pulls the bottom of the leggings up. I keep trying to make them work but keep getting disappointed.

We're so sorry to hear this! Fighting your gear on a run or hike is incredibly frustrating, especially when you're trying to manage hip, back and knee pain.

Based on your measurements, what you're experiencing is actually a classic sign that the tights are a bit too small. Because our internal cable system is so powerful, if the fabric is stretched to its limit across the hips and thighs it will naturally "recoil" and pull downward — causing the crotch to sag and the knee templates to ride up.

We want you to love these and feel the real support on the trails! Please reach out to our team at stokosports@gmail.com so we can help adjust your size and set up a free exchange for you.

Buenos

Love the added support and brace tech of these tights. Bought the merino wool for skiing and felt they really helped without reducing movement. Wish they were a little cooler or lighter weight. Glad I have them.

Men's vs womens

Extremely hard to get on. Once on, the support seems to be there, but with a torn ACL the jury is out. My biggest issue? Where is the area to "undo" when I need to go to the bathroom? It takes so long to get these on, there's no way I'm struggling with them with all my ski gear on. Men's conveniently have a hatch — why nothing for women, considering how hard these are to fit in the first place?

Thanks for the honest feedback, Kristen! While the Men's Tight includes a fly for convenience, the Women's was designed for a seamless fit under gear. That said, we know bathroom breaks on the mountain can be time-consuming, and we've shared your feedback directly with our Design Team for future updates.

A quick tip: these medical-grade braces have a learning curve and "break in" after 3–5 wears. Try the "bunch and pull" method (like hosiery) to align the knee markers before pulling them over your hips.

What is your return policy?

Stoko accepts returns and exchanges within 30 days of the delivery date.

We encourage you to put your Supportive Apparel to the test before deciding to return it — move in them, get sweaty, give them everything you've got. There's a short break-in period with your Supportive Tights, meaning it takes a little time before they start to regulate and feel comfortable on your body. They can be a challenge to get used to at first, since Supportive Apparel is very different from any other tights or braces you've tried.

How are Stoko products different from traditional knee braces on the market?

Like other traditional and medical-grade knee braces, the Supportive Tight provides support and stability to the body in compromised knee positions — but it gets there differently. The Supportive Tight relies on tension across the Stoko Support System to generate support, built from cables integrated directly into the tights. The result is support that moves with your body without compromising comfort, aesthetics or strength.
